In line with our pledge, here is the third part of a series of actions you can implement right now to flatten the fear curve!

Implement Small Steps to Take Larger Ones

When there is a lot riding on the line or we are stressed and overwhelmed, like right now, we can end up taking the wrong action which backfires or does not help us achieve what we want.  Taking the wrong action can actually create more stress, anxiety, and a feeling of being overwhelmed, which in return, can lead us to believe that what we want is not possible.  Three (3) simple things which WILL help us take the right action are listed below.

Actions

  1. Is This the Right Action? – Taking action too soon, trying to do too much at once, and doing something that does not feel right to us are all examples of taking the wrong action.  Before we do something, asking ourselves “Is this the right action?” WILL help us take a step back and evaluate if the action we are about to take IS the action we SHOULD take.

  2. What Drives Me? – Knowing what we are called to do, what motivates us, what inspires us, and what desires we want to bring to life inherently give us the resilience and perseverance to take action towards achieving our goals.  Exploring each of these components – calling, motivation, inspiration, and desires – WILL help us take actions steps which are truly in alignment with who we are and what we want.

  3. Small Steps – Taking it one small step at a time is manageable, achievable, and within reach.  Breaking our larger goals into smaller ones allows us to create small wins which WILL build a foundation of momentum that carries us to achieve our larger goals.
